This session will demonstrate how the University of Florida promotes student engagement. We will discuss what student involvement and student engagement looks like beyond the classroom experiences. We will also explore how employers can have conversations with potential recruits about their involvement experience and how that translates to the job.

Crafting a diversified workforce with intention requires a look into nontraditional majors to enter the pipeline. In this session, UF faculty will present various student and program profiles that detail how their student’s academic experience equips them with skills that can translate to and fulfill the needs of industries they are typically not recruited for. She will also share her personal experience building a program at Info Tech including lessons learned the hard way.
