Join us for a virtual four-week professional development series! As an Envision Career Academy scholar, you will be paired with a UF alumni mentor that will share their experience transitioning from UF into the workplace. Alumni and students from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to participate, including: First-Gen, Black, Hispanic x LatinX, APID, LGBTQ+, international alumni, veterans, and individuals with Disabilities. Through mentorship, course resources, and weekly group discussions you will develop your identity as a professional.
The program will consist of weekly meetings between mentors and mentees. Guidance and activities on how to maximize these interactions will be provided. We will be utilizing the Gator Network platform to host the online group, so all mentors and mentees will be required to create a Gator Network account.
We will cover how the following topics affect you and your professional growth:
- Imposter Syndrome
- Self-Advocacy
- Networking & Building Social Capital
- Professional Branding
Important dates:
- Info session for interested mentors on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024 from 5-6 pm EST.
- Application for Envision Career Academy opens on February 1st, 2024.
- Application closes on February 21st, 2024.
- Orientation for all mentees and mentors on February 28th, 2024, from 5-6pm EST.
