Join this workshop to learn more about the crucial need for social science expertise, cultural analysis, and relationship management in Federal service. This session is led by an anthropologist working for the U.S. government who will share about her career trajectory, roles and responsibilities at each of her roles, and discuss what values and skills lead to success in the fields of Tribal affairs, historic preservation, and social science analysis in the public sector. She will also share some paid opportunities for student and recent graduates interested several fields including but not limited to: history, anthropology, sociology, natural and cultural resource management, humanities/rhetoric, etc. The session is intended not only to raise awareness about the crucial need for liberal arts backgrounds across public service, but also give practical advice on how to get started researching the federal application process.
