The Career Connections Center invites the Gator Nation to pay it forward by volunteering time to assist students in becoming career ready. Whether you are an alumnus, parent, employer, or friend, you can be a life-changing connection that can usher a Gator to their next meaningful career opportunity.
As a consultant, your involvement plays a vital role in preparing current Gators to navigate a competitive and dynamic workforce. At the Career Connections Center, we believe that “Experience Changes Everything”. In fact, your experience is an invaluable resource that you can leverage to help students and alumni confidently explore and pursue their career goals.
Three Ways to Participate
We know that you and your time is valuable. To cater to varying availabilities and interests, we have arranged the following ways to engage with C3 career education initiatives:
Consultations
Provide one on one feedback to students through resume reviews, mock interviews or other flash mentorship opportunities.
Time Commitment: minimum of 1 hour
Speaking Engagements
Share industry knowledge and provide advice as a panelist or presenter in a group setting.
Time Commitment: Varies. Average of 2 hours
Share Your Story
Storytelling is impactful. Memorialize the impact your experiences at UF and beyond have had on your career development by sharing your story in a C3 interview or joining us as a guest on our Nexus podcast.
Time Commitment: Between 30 minutes and 1 hour
It has definitely been a blessing this summer to serve as an alumni mentor for the pilot program for the Envisions Career Academy through the University of Florida Career Connections Center. It was also a pleasure to participate in the Professional Branding workshop and share insight with college students participating in the program. No matter where I am in my career, I will NEVER drop the ladder behind me and will continue to help as many aspiring lawyers and young lawyers as I can. I will NEVER shut the door on those who ask for my help as we maneuver TOGETHER through our careers. To whom much is given, much is REQUIRED. We are blessed so that we can always be of a blessing to others.

This experience was so impactful for me. I was initially hesitant to sign up because I was nervous I might have trouble really connecting with a mentee. But, wow. I'm so glad that something told me to forge past that because I loved every minute of this.
