About Melissa Janvier, Esq.

Melissa Janvier prides herself on being a Florida Gator.  She attended the University on a merit scholarship and graduated in 1998 earning a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications.  Ms Janvier later went on to attend law school as a Virgil Hawkins Scholarship recipient at UF’s Levin College of Law where she graduated in May 2001.  Shortly thereafter she began practicing criminal law as an Assistant State Attorney in the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, where she participated in over 50 bench and jury trials.  In 2006, Ms Janvier moved to New York with her family where she took the NY bar and continued prosecuting in the Kings County DA office in Brooklyn under the late DA Charles ‘Joe’ Hynes.  Ms Janvier left the DA’s office for an opportunity to pursue corporate law working as In-House counsel for JPMorgan Chase in NYC where she specialized in Consumer Law and Credit Card Litigation.   The department was subsequently outsourced in 2013, and Ms Janvier opened Janvier Law Group, P.C. where she handled general family and criminal law matters.

In 2014, Ms Janvier relocated to London, UK with her family due to her husband’s employment opportunity.  After settling her family into life in a new country, Ms Janvier returned to work at the central bank of the UK, the Bank of England.  She currently works as Legal Counsel in the Legal Directorate where she advises on prudential regulation of insurers and banks.  While Brexit remained a challenge to navigate, it is the central bank that is currently helping to shape the post-exit regulatory landscape.

Ms Janvier is married to her husband, Nicolas of 23 years.  They have 3 children together, ages 8, 16, 18.  In her spare time, Ms Janvier enjoys watching football (aka ‘soccer’ matches) in the UK, catching a few Gator games in the fall, and traveling across Europe.
