High school juniors and seniors are invited to participate in the Find Your Future Leadership Institute hosted by the University of Florida’s Career Connections Center (C3) award-winning team. It’s a one-day event where students can get a jump start on their career exploration at the C3.
Students will explore the vast array of career options and also discover how their strengths can help them gain an advantage in their college and career pursuits. It’s a day long summer camp event with a leadership and career twist.

10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Values and Interests – Why Do They Matter?
To be prepared for work in the 21st century, a student will need to understand their interested and what they value. Through this workshop, students will be able to clarify their interests and what values are most important to them in a work setting.
10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Understanding My Strengths
Name, Claim and Aim your CliftonStrengths to gain a competitive advantage in your college and career pursuits. Review the results of your Clifton Strengths assessment so you understand what they are and why you need them to build your career.
11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Lunch
12:45 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Imagine the Possibilities
Picking a major or even a career can be confusing. This workshop will help you consider what options may be right for you so that you can begin to plan for your future.
1:15 p.m. – 2:45 p.m. Exploring Career Options
Hear from company representatives from various industry career clusters speak about what it is like to have a career in that field, what skills are most sought after and what college experiences they should plan for.
2: 45 p.m. – 3 p.m. Break
3 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Resume Skills Workshop
Perhaps you have completed one for class or have never done one before. No matter which group you are in, resumes are important. They are a crucial part of the job search process but even before that, you will need one for your college application. Learn how to create one through this workshop.
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Reflection
Reflect on the day’s activities through fun discussion and activities
