This session will bring awareness to the importance of mosquito control in public health, and showcase entomology as a fun and valid major and career path.

Alumni Presenter: Tarolyn Plumley| Class of 2020

Curious about the world of entomology? I’m a first-year college graduate who navigated the challenging transition to a university while studying an unconventional major. After graduating from the #1 entomology department in the world, I’m now in public outreach and surveillance at the Citrus County Mosquito Control District. This is my story about how studying entomology led me to my dream job. It’s not only a major that can lead you in many professional directions, but it taught me that you don’t have to pick between having a career and doing what you love!
