The Career Connections Center offers a wide variety of workshops and programs to help guide UF students in their professional development. From major exploration to preparing for job searches or interviews, we have an event that will help get you where you need to be.
Trying to figure out where to get started? Consider what your needs and goals are at this time. The following are some of our large and small groups workshops and programs.
Adulting 101
This workshop series is perfect if you are graduating soon and/or want to learn some practical life skills regarding managing your money, transitioning to a new job, and learning how to make networking less awkward.
Examples of workshop topics:
- Transitioning from student to professional
- Covering essential topics such as making connections in a new city
- Work/life balance
- Salary negotiation
- Managing finances
This series is presented by our career coaches and employers across various industries.
Career Conversations
If you’re feeling stuck or have general career questions that you want to talk through with others, this is the program for you. Career Conversations are informal, small group conversations facilitated by a career coach. During Career Conversations, you will engage in group discussion and activities with a small group of your peers.
Topics include things like:
- Exploring major or career options
- Navigating family conversations
- Managing career and self-care
Career Speakers Bureau
Want to a chance to hear from and connect with relatable working professionals? The Career Speakers Bureau is a unique panel series to hear inspiring career stories and journeys.
Career Success Institute
Career Success Institute (CSI) is a six-week career and leadership cohort designed to help you learn about your career potential, gain self-awareness, and create an action plan to move forward, all while building connections with peers.
Throughout the six weeks, you will be using group discussion, reflection, assessments, and activities to learn more about yourself and your career or major options.
International Student Series
If you’re an international student looking for help in the job or internship search or wanting to better understand the process of CPT, OPT, OPT STEM, or employment-based visas, this is the series for you.
The International Student Series is a workshop series in partnership with UFIC International Student Services and an immigration attorney. It is customized for international students to learn job search and networking skills and understand regulatory and compliance information.
Resume and LinkedIn Labs
Need to update your resume or LinkedIn profile and want some real-time support while working on it? Visit our weekly Resume Labs or monthly LinkedIn Labs.
Sessions will include a brief resume or LinkedIn basics overview and time to work on updating your materials. You are encouraged to bring your laptop/tablet to edit, update, or make changes to your resume during this session.
