Experiential and Work Based Learning Report

The Co-Curricular tab consists of Experiential Learning values that have been prepopulated using the data provided for the previous academic year.  Please review them to ensure that they are reflective of your Summer 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 offerings and make updates as necessary.

For Offerings you want to change:

You may change the Experiential Learning Categories and Sub-Categories on offerings.

• Click on the cell in question

• Click the dropdown carrot/arrow at the end of the cell

• Select the appropriate value from the dropdown

• When updating or changing Experiential Learning values, please be aware that each Experiential Learning Category has a specific set of values within its Sub-Category.  We cannot mix and match.  The dropdowns on the spreadsheet have been coded to account for this.

To fill in blank sub-categories:

• Some offerings will have blank Sub-Category values (highlighted in yellow) and will need to be completed.  To complete these:

• • Click on the blank cell

• • Click the dropdown carrot/arrow at the end of the cell

To add/delete Experiential Learning Offerings:

• You may add new offerings. To do so, please add to the bottom of your list. Be sure to assign each offering an Experiential Learning value for both the main category and sub category.

• You may delete offerings if they were not offered during this reporting cycle.

Units will be asked to review their Experiential Learning course designations. Units can update their attributes or designate a new EL attribute through their course scheduler.

Not currently. UF HR will support all student hire and employment reporting activities for this request. This includes OPS, Graduate Assistants and Fellows.

Please review the Experiential Learning Glossary which outlines all the various categories that the university recognizes and can be included in your survey submission.

University reporting includes engagement data for ALL students at the University of Florida. This includes undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students. In alignment with University policy and efforts to document the impact of these career interventions on post graduate student success outcomes, the reporting of this data is a routine practice.

Three campus entities play distinct and vital roles to ensure that the institution is capturing comprehensive experiential learning data.

• Career Connections Center – Serves as the University's co-curricular lead for experiential learning and university representative with the Florida Board of Governors for the experiential learning information process
• Institutional Planning & Research -  Leads university submissions for Board of Governor data requests and provides consultation throughout the data collection and reporting process
• Enrollment Management – Serves as the University's curricular lead for experiential learning

The data collected in this reporting process is crucial for promoting student and industry engagement in the vast experiential learning opportunities within units and departments across the university. Additionally, it serves as a valuable resource for supporting data requests. Your active participation guarantees UF's excellence in delivering enriching experiential learning and informs impactful decisions, benefiting the entire university community.

The Experiential Learning data submission process has been enhanced to include units utilizing a live link for data reporting, resulting in a new streamlined data submission process. Units will no longer need to download and send their completed Excel report via email. Instead, to submit your report, simply send an email to the Experiential Learning Inbox at uf-explearning@ufl.edu, indicating that your report is complete no later than May 8, 2026.

Please note: If a confirmation email is not received by the specified deadline, your unit's file will be automatically pulled for review at 5 PM on May 8, 2026.
